ESL Classes for Visitors

Our Centres offer ESL classes for visitors and work permit holders in a supportive and friendly environment. This widely recognized and accredited program is available on a fee-for-service basis at three locations in Halton.


Program Information

 

Students practice listening, speaking, reading and writing through individual and group work, and learn about Canadian culture as well as every day English grammar, vocabulary, spelling and pronunciation to help them participate in Canadian society or be able to communicate better in the workplace. 

Class locations: Burlington, Milton, Oakville, Georgetown
Length of study: Varies
Fee: $8 CDN per hour
Course duration: Classes run from September to June

Students can begin a class at any time. Orientation is held on the first day of classes.

7:00 p.m. - 9:30  p.m.
(7.5 hours/week)

Fee per week $120/week Tues & Thurs - $32/week

Mon, Wed & Fri - $48/week

$60/week

Fees are paid at the time of registration. Minimum length is two weeks. Payment may be made by cash, cheque or credit card. All fees are non-refundable.

Eligibility Criteria:

 

To study in our ESL program for visitors, applicants must be:

  • A visitor to Canada
  • A foreign worker

OBS: Only individuals who are already in Canada can register for classes. Centre for Skills does not accept overseas registrations and does not issue Letters of Acceptance to be taken to the Immigration Office in the home country to obtain a Study Permit.
