We are currently looking for a PRESS OPERATOR to join our BURLINGTON team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity that will be responsible for the operation of vinyl presses to produce high quality vinyl records for fulfillment of assigned customer orders. We are looking for a positive, energetic person who is highly motivated and wants to work in a team environment!
Responsibilities
- Operate vinyl presses to produce materials consistent with customer specifications while ensuring quality standards are met and adhering to all safety standards and regulations
- Read work orders and production schedules to ensure conformance to customer specifications
- Set up, start and shut down machines (extruders, hydraulic and pneumatic presses) & monitor their operations, restocking materials as required
- Consistently meet or exceed identified target attainment goals on a daily and monthly basis
- Perform quality audits at point of manufacture
- Perform routine general maintenance on machines and work area daily; maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned production area at all times
- Determine and report product and equipment malfunctions to appropriate parties; troubleshoot equipment malfunctions as necessary
- Maintain a constant visual on parts produced and perform visual quality control audits
- Ensure to work following all Company policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
- Targeted reduction in waste of all forms (time, materials, labour)
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization (colleagues, supervisors and other departments)
- Other duties as assigned by the Team Leader or designate
Physical Demands
• Required to stand for long periods of time (duration of shift)
• Involves repetitive motions for duration of shift; use of hands and wrist continuously in a controlled environment;
• Engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
• Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather conditions
• Must be able to carry, push, pull or lift up to 50lbs occasionally
• Adaptable to relative sound pressure levels
Requirements/Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Use of proper PPE while performing functions, CSA steel toed safety boots are mandatory
• Must be willing to work all shifts & to work overtime as business needs require
• Must be able to meet physical demands of the job
• Excellent communication skills: written, electronic and oral
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Must be capable of working in stressful situations in times of need
• Must be able to work well with others and in a team atmosphere
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
