POSITION PROFILE:

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, performing minor repairs, painting, and other routine maintenance duties within our facility.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

▪ Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
▪ Performing various other maintenance duties such as minor repairs and painting as needed
▪ Performing yard/lawn maintenance
▪ Clean windows and mirrors, Clean and supply restrooms
▪ Remove waste and empty trash
▪ Maintain cleaning chart indicating areas that were cleaned and inspected
▪ Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies
▪ Notify supervisors about unsafe conditions or concerning the need for repairs or maintenance
▪ Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to observe safety and security procedures and to comply with policies
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; ability to write clear statements; ability to communicate orally
  • Must be able to do physical work and operate power equipment normally found in janitorial operations
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments
  • Ability to follow directions from a supervisor
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism
  • Must be able to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a team
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT:

The job requires working in heights, exposure to changes in temperature, driving equipment, and maybe exposed to dust, fumes, or gases. The employee is required to stand and walk for most of the working day. The physical requirements of the job are for employees to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb height, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull. Furthermore, the job requires employees to lift/carry/push or pull up to 50 pounds without assistance.
