Position Overview:
Vinton Precision Tool is looking for a 1st - 3rd year Tool and Die Apprentice to work alongside licensed tool and die makers. The candidate must possess good work ethics, a positive attitude with a willingness to learn and is expected to be punctual.
Responsibilities:
- Operating a stamping press, saw, block up mills, drill press etc.
- As experience is gained the candidate will be trained to use more complex machines such as grinders, conventional mills and lathes.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have the ability to lift 50lbs
- Post Secondary Diploma
- Working experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
- Good communication skills; verbal and written
- Ability to interpret 2D engineering drawings
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment independently with and without supervision
- Ability to use measuring equipment
